Taste of Polonia Festival

At the 30th annual Taste of Polonia outdoor festival the weather was good and the festival attracted a record number of guests estimated at more than 35,000 people. Within the four day event held through Labor Day weekend, 4-7 September, the festival visitors had the opportunity to hear rock music, blues and dance performed on five stages. They could see a concert orchestra and cooking demonstrations and taste Polish dishes and sample a newly introduced Polish beer.

The Copernicus Foundation has hosted the Taste of Polonia over Labor Day weekend for the last 30 years. Over 1.5 million people have attended the event during that period. The Taste of Polonia began in 1980 and has been a yearly tradition in Chicago. The festival is the Copernicus Foundation's primary fundraiser. The Taste of Polonia festival features delicious Polish cuisines, non-stop entertainment and a host of Polish handcrafters and artisans.
